Fall 2015 Wednesday Coed Flag Football @ Cobra Field (Gahanna)

A great evening for some flag football as we had a couple great games and some games we found out that teams have a little work to do to get better, but will surely do so.

We started out with a tight game with Unbarretable v. the LC and it was Unbarretable going for the quick bomb early to make it 7-0, but the LC didnt back down and beared down on defense for the rest of the game, but in the end it was Unbarretable that had it in the end to take it 13-12.

Supermoons came back where they left off having no trouble against the newcombers HMB pounding them early and often, but HMB worked some things out nicely at the end of the game that can give them something positive to look forward to next week with.

V&D although they showed up in flesh may as well stayed on the couch as the Flag Snatchers dominated the 2nd half in what was a close 1st half at 14-0, but VD couldnt move the ball and in the end it was a 45-0 route.

Mira Monsters and the Purple Panthers played a good game with the Monsters opening it up to a 20-0 lead right before halftime with a pick 6 otherwise the Panthers played a good 2nd half and came together at the end, but the Monsters will happily take an 1-0 start.

Mira Monsters counterparts Nova Ninjas had a tougher challenge against the Black Team and 3 huge mistakes cost them the game as 3 pick 6s turned a close game into a 3 score game in the 2nd half. The Black Team saw little offense in the 1st half as 2 TDs came by the way of the pick 6 and a late TD before halftime and starting with the ball in the 2nd half gave the Black Team a 26-14 lead but the Ninjas didnt give up and lost a tight one 47-35 in a great game

Well the field held up last night, thank goodness for that wind to dry the field off some.

We had some good games last night overall with some big matchups looming but teams are improving overall.

Mira Monsters had no problems dismantling HMB last night as the Monsters had the ball for 1 offensive play and was up 18-0 after 2 pick 6s by HMB. The game slowed down some as HMB even put up a couple TDs, but too little too late.

The closest game of the night had the Panthers riding high from their victory last week going up against an injured and short handed Ninjas team who were looking to get victory, but it was the Panthers who went up 20-6 late in the game as the Ninjas made a run, but the tick tock went down to 0 as the Panthers take home their 2nd win of the season and improving each week.

Supermoons had their work cut out against the offensively challenged LC team who for the 2nd week in a row played a top team in the league and held their opponents in check. This week the Supermoons played a much improved LC team who held their own in shutting down the juggernaut Supermoon offense to just 12 points with one of those TDs being a pick 6. Once LC gets their offense together they could be a team to be wreckend with.

The Black Team started out on fire against the Flagsnatchers who vice versally started out a little slow, but the Flagsnatchers did put some offensive drives together, but couldnt stop the deep ball by the Black Team to never really come close in this battle of the unbeatens.

Finally in the last game Unbarretable had no problem rolling through VD in this game as the offensive woes continue for VD getting shut out in 2 out of their 3 games this season

There was a little chill in the air as Fall season truly starts to hit home and these games get a little brisk towards the end of the night. We had a couple of thrilling games, but most were overall laughers last night.

UNBARRETABLE OVER NINJAS 57-12 - The well got emptied yesterday in the first game as the Ninjas and Monsters had a mid season trade giving the Ninjas the Gym Class Heroes. Needless to say at 37-6 at the half it was over. The big win also moves them into 2nd place in the jumbled 1 loss teams.

MONSTERS OVER SUPERMOONS 35-34 - Maybe the game of the season so far, but looked like a laugher in the 1st half with Supermoons up 28-6 early, but a late TD looked to give the Monsters some hope for the 2nd half making it 28-13, but then a pick with under a minute left gave Monsters good field position and scored on the last play of the half to make it 28-21 at halftime. The Monsters scored on their first possession and took the 29-28 lead, but the Moons would come back and score to make it 34-29. The Moons were driving again late but couldnt put the nail in the coffin and with less than 2 minutes left the Monsters marched the field and making key plays and with 4th down on the 1 yard line they punched it in as time expired for the magical 35-34 win as the SuperMoons wondered what happened there scoring just 1 TD in their last 5 drives when scoring on their first 4 drives.

VICIOUS AND DELICIOUS OVER THE LC - It looked like the LC would rule the day going up 12-0 after a couple horrible picks by VD, but the LC couldnt hold as the game was tied up at 18 at the half. After LCs first few drives though V&D defense got tough and helf the LC scoreless the whole 2nd half and put up some good offense to go in for an easy 31-18 victory.

FLAGSNATCHERS CRUSH PANTHERS - The Flagsnatchers started short and threw a pick that the Panthers cashed in on to make it 6-0. That was the rest of the offense for the Panthers as the Flag Snatchers at full strength had no problems cruising to an easy 35-6 victory.
