Week 2 In the Books
Our second week brought some more great basketball action. Teams looked to have knocked the rust off and were back into the full swing of playing. There was great ball movement and a number of tough shots knocked down. It'll be exciting to see teams to continue to improve throughout the season.

The first contest of the night was a tight one between Get That Weak Stuff Outta Here and the Monstars. Both teams battled throughout with a number of lead changes. Weak Stuff was able to use their size advantage to dominate the post area, but the Monstars would answer with their outside shooting. In the end, Weak Stuff's size advantage and ability to get into the paint proved to be the difference.

The Columbus Cavs used their quick team defense to pull away with the second game of the night. The Cavs defense harassed the Hardwood Heroes ballhandlers all night and came away with a number of steals that lead to fast break points. The Cavs jumped out to an early lead in a flurry and the Heroes were unable to recover.

Top Teams Flex Their Muscles
Another great night of games last night as the top teams showed they are forces to be reckoned with, while the other teams showed improvements but they still have some work left to be done.

The Monstars and Cavs squared off first. The first half remained tight with the Monstars dominating the paint and the Cavs slashing to the basket. In the second half however, those early jumpers that weren't falling for the Monstars started to go in. The Monstars hot shooting and increased defensive pressure proved to be too much for the Cavs as they couldn't keep up.

Get That Weak Stuff Outta Here improved their record to 3-0 after their match up with the Hardwood Heroes. The Hardwood Heroes stuck around in the first half knocking down some big 3s. Weak Stuff's quickness and ball pressure wore down the Heroes and they were unable to keep up the pace. A number of Weak Stuff steals led to easy buckets on the other end.

Tough Matchups in Week 4
The Monstars and Hardwood Hereos faced off again for the second time this season. The Monstars once again used their pressure defense and quickness to force a number of easy baskets. They dominated the transition game and built a comfortable lead early. The Hardwood Heroes had some great individual hustle plays and will look to carry that over at a team level next week.

The Columbus Cavs and Get That Weak Stuff Outta Here met for another tight battle. Their first matchup was decided by only 4 points and the result was the same this go around. Weak Stuff took advantage of their size early and really pounded the paint and boards. The Cavs however were able to put on a spectacular shooting display knocking down a number of 3s. In the end, it was Weak Stuff who was able to take home the close victory.

Tie Atop the Standings
The Columbus Cavs used their pressure defense and team speed once again to top the Hardwood Heroes. The Cavs forced a number of turnovers that led to easy buckets on their end. The Hardwood Heroes show flashes of putting it together, but can't seem to sustain it for a long enough stretch. The Cavs have a big match up next week with the Monstars and will look to avenge their earlier loss.

The big battle of the night came between the Monstars and Get That Weak Stuff Outta Here. Possession of 1st place in the standings was on the line. The Monstars came out firing on all cylinders. They played great team defense, controlled the tempo and displayed some knock down shooting. The two teams have now spit the regular season series at 1 game a piece and will be battling it out to take the #1 seed in the playoffs.

Playoff Preview
Get That Weak Stuff Outta Here managed to escape the regular season with only a single loss and the claimed the #1 seed. They have also beaten the Hardwood Heroes in their previous two meetings. The Heroes will be itching to be the Cinderella story and come away with a few upsets to take home the title.

The match up between the Monstars and Columbus Cavs should be a great one. The teams split in their regular season meetings and no game decided by more than 4 points. The Monstars will look to stay hot from 3 point land and scoring in transition. The Cavs greatest strength is their ability to penetrate and apply great ball pressure on D.
