Week 1 In the Books
We had a great first evening of volleyball. Everyone looked to be knocking the rust off after the first set or two and got back into the swing of things fairly quickly.

The Volleybrawlers and Block Party kicked our season off with the first match of the night. The Volleybrawlers jumped out early winning the first two sets, but Block Party came back to win the third. Block Party became more comfortable with one another and may have figured out their roles late in the third set.

Jeff and Sloppy Sets battled for a great second match of the night. Sloppy Sets came away with all three sets, but all three were close until the end. Both teams look to be major players in deciding the league race.

Can't Force It and Spikers Unlimited faced off in the final match of the night. Can't Force It took advantage of their size with some sizzling spikes and blocks. Spikers Unlimited did show improvement through each set and will look to carry that momentum into next week.

Improvement in Week 2
Teams seemed to have gotten rid of the rust last week, as we had some great volleyball matches this week. Everyone was played much better this week and looked to regain their form. Sets scores were close all night and it looks like we'll have a great season in store for us.

Spikers Unlimited came out rolling in the first match up of the night against Block Party. Spikers seemed more comfortable as a team this week and figured out their roles for success. Block Party played much better in their scrimmage at the end and will look to rebound next week.

Can't Force It took another 3 sets against Sloppy Sets this week. All 3 sets were tight throughout but Sloppy Sets was never able to get over the hump. Can't Force It looks to be a tough match up for everyone with their size and spiking ability.

Jeff and the Volleybrawlers battled in the last match of the night, with Jeff coming away with 2 sets in the end. The Volleybrawlers were able to win the first set but Jeff stormed back to take the final 2 sets. Both these teams showed off some spectacular plays throughout the night and provided the most entertaining match of the season so far.

3 Game Sweeps
All of this week's match ups resulted in 3 game sweeps, bu there was still some close volleyball being played. Can't Force It has jumped out to a quick start and are a top the standings without having dropped a set yet, but there a number of teams right on their tail.

Can't Force It continued to impress with their sweep over the Volleybrawlers. They improved throughout the night and managed to increase their winning margin in each set they played. They'll look to continue their perfect season next week against Block Party.

Block Party and Jeff faced off in the second contest of the night. Block Party hung tough with Jeff for being shorthanded, but Jeff is tough match up even at full strength. Ultimately, Jeff was able to pull away in each set to take home all 3.

The last matchup of the night proved to be the tightest. Each set was decided by 5 or less. Sloppy Sets knew how to turn it on during the clutch and pulled off all 3 victories. Spikers Unlimited were so close to battling back, but were never able to get over the hump.

Teams Continue to Roll
Jeff kept their winning streak up with their 3 set sweep over Spikers Unlimited. The Spikers were able to keep it close to start, but Jeff would pull away once both teams hit the teens. Jeff showed off some great serves throughout the night along with some great team returns. Jeff heads toward their big collision next week against Can't Force It, who sits atop the standings.

Sloppy Sets powerful attack propelled them to victory over the Volleybrawlers. Sloppy Sets sent home an number of nasty spikes that the Volleybrawlers had no chance of defending. Sloppy Sets look like they are really starting to click and will be dangerous for the remainder of the season.

Block Party hung tough but Can't Force It continued their perfect season taking home 3 victories on the night. Block Party put together probably their best performance of the season and with only 4 team members, but it wasn't enough to take down Can't Force It. Can't Force It continues to show a balanced, well rounded game that looks tough to top. They will be put to the test next week in their showdown with Jeff.

Shake Up in Week 6
Spikers Unlimited came to play in their rematch with Block Party. The Spikers played some great team ball and had contributions from everyone. Block Party put up a good fight for being shorthanded on players and just had too many gaps on the court to defend. The Spikers picked up the 3 game sweep and now sit in 4th place in the standings.

Jeff took care of business in all 3 of their sets against the Volleybrawlers. The Volleybrawlers struggled in their first set of the night, but did hang on tough in their final 2 sets. They made Jeff sweat with some close finishes but weren't able to finish with the W. Jeff is now sitting in 3rd place and will have an opportunity to move up to 2nd if everything goes right next week.

In the surprise of the night, Sloppy Sets took 2 sets from Can't Force It to give them their first losses of the season. This was some exciting volleyball with a number of great blocks, spikes and team volleys. This should be a great match up if these two teams should meet again in the playoffs. Right now they both hold the top 2 positions in the standings and would only meet in the championship game.

Regular Season Complete
Can't Force It finished out their impressive season with the 3 set sweep over the Volleybrawlers. Can't Force It controlled most of the game, but did survive a rally late in set 2 to bring the Volleybrawlers close. Withe the sweep, Can't Force It locked up the #1 seed in the playoffs. They managed to go the entire 7 weeks with only dropping 2 sets.

Sloppy Sets squared off with Spikers Unlimited for their final match up of the regular season. Each set would start off neck and neck but Sloppy Sets was able to pull away in all 3 to take home the victories. Sloppy Sets has been on a roll lately after giving the #1 seed their only 2 losses of the season last week. Sloppy Sets earned the #2 seed in the playoffs and will be a tough out.

Jeff and Block Party met for the regular season finale and played some close volleyball. The last two sets were both decided by 2 points. Jeff was able to take the first set quite easily, but Block Party put up a real fight in the second match. Jeff was able to hang on in the second but Block Party came back and took the third. Teams Show Up Early
Teams of the 8 and 9pm games may want to show up about 20 minutes before their listed gametime. In the playoffs, we won't be playing the 3rd set if a team is leading 2-0. That could lead to some quick matches that won't take the whole hour time limit.
