Winter 2016 Sunday Coed Indoor Beach Volleyball @ Ultimate Beach Center

The Beach Ballers and Spiking Vikings kicked off the season with an exciting match. The Beach Ballers jumped out early in the first set winning 25-11. The Vikings were able to figure it out in the second set coming back and taking it 25-16. They both battled it out for the last set of the night, but the Vikings were able to squeak it out with a 15-11 final.

Good Touch Bad Touch had things rolling in their first match up against Stranger Danger. They were able to sweep all 3 sets. Stranger Danger was close in the 1st & 3rd set but was never able to get over the hump and take a W. They'll look to bounce back next week now that they knocked the rust off.

The Mighty Morphin Power Players met up with Good Touch Bad Touch for the final match of the evening. Good Touch was able to jump out and take the first set. The 2nd set was a battle and the Power Players held on for a 25-23 victory. They were able to hold onto the momentum gained in that second set and took the third quite convincingly.

I Wanna Set You Up jumped out early and took the first two sets from the Mighty Morphin Power Players. The closest of the first two sets was decided by 8 points. The Power Players however turned the tables in set number three, coming away with a 25-12 win. That gave I Wanna Set You Up their first lost set of the season.

The Beach Ballers and Wampler's Warriors faced off next in some close action. The Beach Ballers took a 25-23 win in the first set. The Warriors responded well, as they came back and took the final two sets themselves. Each set came down to the wire and was the most entertaining match of the night.

Good Touch Bad Touch continued to roll in their match up with the Wampler's Warrriors. The first set was only decided by 2 points, but Good Touch really kicked it into high gear for the remainder of the match. The final two sets were each decided by at least 15 points. Good Touch Bad Touch sits atop the standings, just ahead of I Wanna Set You Up.

Stranger Danger was all business in their 3 game sweep over the Spiking Vikings. The closest they allowed the Spiking Vikings to get was 9 points. It was Stranger Danger's first wins of the season and they'll look to continue their new found momentum in their next match against I Wanna Set You Up.

I Wanna Set You Up took home a big victory over Good Touch Bad Touch. The teams were battling to sit alone atop the standings. I Wanna Set You Up jumped out and won the first set, but Good Touch Bad Touch answered right back by taking set number two. In the all important third set, I Wanna Set You Up came back out firing and won by 9 points. With the victory, they now sit in 1st place and will look to lock up the #1 seed in the upcoming weeks.

Stranger Danger and Wampler's Warriors slugged it out in the second match of the night. The Warriors were able to squeak by with a tight 27-26 victory in the first set. Stranger Danger had a great response by winning the final two sets themselves. These two teams will continue to duke it out, as they now hold the same record and they will be jockeying for better playoff seeding.

Just when we thought we couldn't see any finishes closer than the previous matches, the Beach Ballers and Mighty Morphin Power Players came down to the wire in all 3 sets. The Beach Ballers won the first and third sets, withe their largest margin of victory being 3 points. The Power Players did sneak in a win in the second set and came so close in the others, but couldn't quite seal the deal.
