Mother Nature Makes Things Tough
Cold wind and rain made conditions interesting for our Week 2 games. The 6pm games were able to get most of their match in before it really started to open up. You have to love spring in Columbus.

We Got the Runs capitalized by jumping out early over Booze On First. Their early lead before the weather started to turn proved to be crucial. It was tough sledding for both teams once the rain started to fall, making it difficult to throw and run the bases. With the win We Got the Runs moved to 2-0 and is tied atop the standings.

The Bad News Beers and the Outfield Outkasts win the toughness award for the week, electing to stay and play in a torrential downpour. The Outkasts had a tough time slowing down the Beers even in the rough conditions. The Bad News Beers were able to hold onto the shut out and go home with the 12-0 victory. They also moved to 2-0 and are tied for 1st place.

Teams Starting to Click in Week 3
The Bad News Beers continued their hot start with an 8-4 victory over Booze on First. The Beer's defense continues to impress, as they have only given up 8 runs all season. Then their offense does enough to give them comfortable leads throughout most of their contests. The win pushed them to 3-0 and has them tied for 1st place.

We Got the Runs lit up the scoreboard again in their match up with Str8 Ballin. We Got the Runs put up their second consecutive week of scoring more than 10 runs. Their big offense has carried them to a hot 3-0 start that has them tied for first place almost half way through the regular season.

Season Reaching the Midway Point
The Bad News Beers had an offensive explosion in their match up with the Barely Legal Bears. The Beers put up a league high 20 runs on top of playing some stellar defense. The Beers use their aggressive base running and great kick placement to spark their offensive attack. The victory pushes them to 4-0 and they'll continue their quest for the perfect season.

We Got the Runs didn't pull away until late, but they still got the job done against the Outfield Outkasts. The majority of the game was played within 3 runs with both teams clamping down on defense. We Got the Runs however, put together a late rally to create some separation. They will be battling the Bad News Beers next week for sole possession of first place.

Str8 Ballin and Booze on First battled it out in the final game of the night with Booze on First holding on for the 6-5 victory. This game was tight throughout with two experienced teams testing each other. Booze on First just made a few more plays that ended up sealing the win.

Separation Day
The two remaining undefeated teams squared off in a battle for sole possession of first place. Both the Bad News Beers and We Got the Runs had been winning quite convincingly the past few weeks leading up to this showdown. The Beers were held to their season low offensively but three runs were all they needed. The Bad News Beers brought their defensive A game shutting out We Got the Runs for the contest. We'll have to see if these teams will meet again for another close battle in the playoffs.

The Barely Legal Bears and Booze on First entered the day tied in the standings and it showed on the field. These two teams were evenly matched and every run was at a premium. Booze on First jumped out first, but the Barely Legal Bears chipped away scoring a single run in 3 separate innings. The Bears held steady on defense in the 9th to prevent a comeback and took home the W.
